Pilates & Personal Training

  • Private sessions are for the client who wants individual attention or who needs extra support in order to perform exercises properly and reach a higher level of fitness.  Each session is carefully put together to meet the goals of the client, provide a well-rounded workout, and mix it up to challenge the body, mind, and spirit.  During each session, clients’ past injuries, current injuries, and long and short-term goals are used to come up with the perfect program for that individual.

A private Pilates session includes the use of  Balanced Body, Inc. Pilates apparatus, including the Clinical Reformer with Tower, Combo Chair, Barrel, and mat in order to improve core strength and stability, strengthen small and large muscle groups, and increase flexibility. Pilates will increase body awareness, decrease chronic and acute pain, and increase overall well-being.  All Pilates apparatus at Wheeler HealthyU was purchased new in December, 2019 from Balanced Body, Inc.

A personal training session will challenge and support those with chronic orthopedic conditions with an individualized workout program to meet their specific needs and goals.  Clients will benefit from the rehabilitative background and expertise that is provided within personal training sessions at Wheeler HealthyU.  Clients will also be engaged in specific strength and cardio programs tailored to help them achieve their best in sports and daily activities.  Personal training at Wheeler HealthyU will take you to the next level of cardio-respiratory fitness, help you increase lean muscle mass through resistance training, and increase overall flexibility.

A woman wrapped in a white towel sitting inside a wooden infrared sauna with red lighting, with her legs crossed and hair tied back.

Infrared Sauna

  • An Infrared sauna session is a great addition to a massage, workout or wonderful as a stand alone service. Sauna sessions are available in 20, 30 and 45 minute increments and can be booked online. Each session is booked per person and can accommodate up to 3 people if you wish to share your sauna session.

Towels are provided and a shower is available to you should you wish to rinse off afterwards.

Enjoy the benefits of your session as you detox your body through perspiration. Infrared saunas heat your body directly, unlike traditional saunas that just heat the air around you which then cause your body to heat up, allowing you to achieve results at a lower temperature. Massage areas of the body that ache to relieve sore and tense muscles. From time to time, wipe off the excess perspiration to allow for more intense sweating.

Deep and healthy sweating can include all of these benefits:

    1. Pain relief from Rheumatoid Arthritis
    2. Increases blood circulation
    3. Cardiovascular conditioning & weight loss
    4. Relaxes muscle spasms
    5. Clears rashes, acne & improves skin tone
    6. Reduces stress, fatigue & tension
    7. Reduces cellulite
    8. Removes toxins
    9. Strengthens immune system
    10. Rebalances body
